Get ready to dance! Doors open at 7.30pm
One of the highlights of Ramsy 1940s Weekend is the famous Hangar Dance, held on the Saturday night, and this year will be no exception. Revellers can look forward to dancing the night away to the sounds of The Opus One Big Band, Paul Harper ENSA and Lola L'Amour. The date to put in your diaries is Saturday, August 21, with the fun kicking off at 7.30pm and continuing to the end at 12am. Make sure you book tickets early though, because this event sells out quickly and because the numbers are strictly limited, when they're gone, they're gone. Please note that, regretably, because of rising costs the tickets are priced £15 this year. All cheques should be made payable to 'The 40s Committee'. Alternatively, tickets can be bought at Carousel shop in Ramsey Great Whyte.
As ever, the hangar will be home to a full-licenced bar selling a range of beers, wines, spirits, alco-pops and, of course, soft drinks for the driver. Pleas note that this year the bar will be even bigger and longer than ever before, meaning less time away from the dance floor

The Opus One Big Band
This year, the Hangar Dance sees the Opus One Big Band take centre stage in the hangar. The superb outfit will be playing all the famous songs and sounds of the 1940s, so make sure you pack your dancing shoes. The band, originally formed way back in 1983, has been playing for over 25 years and has played venues including RAF Museum, Duxford Air Museum, North Weald Aerodrome, Bletchley Park Museum, Imperial War Museum, "Stage Door Canteen" Royal Albert Hall and Bedford Corn Exchange. The band prides itself on its accuracy and uses genuine US Air Force uniforms, sandbags, old microphones, World War II Stars & Stripes" flags and a collection of genuine 1940s arrangements, many of them unique to us.

Paul Harper and Lola L'Amour
Two regular faces at Ramsey are the peerless Paul Harper and the stunning Lola L'Amour - and 2010 will be no exception. As well as providing music and entertainment on both days, Paul and Lola will be on hand at the Hangar Dance to add their own brilliant entertainment and singing voices.
